How do you evaluate potential staff shooters?
We look for active participation in tournaments (local, regional, or national) over a ~12-month period. We want to see a genuine commitment to tournament shooting and staying active in the competitive scene.
Are tournament scores or podium finishes a determining factor for joining?
No. Scores are not a determining factor in our selection process. Whether you are winning championships or placed at the bottom of the pack having fun, what matters most to us is that you are actively competing and being a great ambassador for Cinnamon Creek and the sport of archery.
How do prospective shooters get to know the team during the application process?
We build relationships in person before making team decisions. Prospective shooters are encouraged to attend our casual Tuesday evening (6PM – 8PM) practice sessions upstairs in the Cinnamon Creek Pro Shop to meet current members and board representatives.
Do I need a range membership while my application is under review?
Yes. Until officially brought onto the team, prospective shooters must purchase a range membership or pay the daily range fee to shoot at Cinnamon Creek Ranch. Range privileges are a benefit reserved for active staff team members.
What is expected of staff shooters once brought onto the team?
Representation: Wear your official Cinnamon Creek jersey at tournaments and events.
Volunteering: Assist with hosting tournaments and help with range/bale maintenance when needed.
Community: Support the shop and positively represent the archery community.
What perks and benefits do staff shooters receive?
Free range access at Cinnamon Creek Ranch.
Equipment discounts at Cinnamon Creek Ranch.
When and where does the team practice?
Day & Time: Primary team practice is every Tuesday evening. Members typically practice between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
Attendance: Practices are casual, flexible, and non-mandatory. Drop in as your schedule permits.
Indoor Season: During peak indoor season, some staff shooters also meet up on Thursday evenings.
Do I have to compete on a team, or is tournament shooting individual?
The vast majority of archery events are individual competitions. While collegiate team shooting exists, our staff shooters compete as individual archers under the Cinnamon Creek banner.
Are staff shooters required to shoot every discipline or season?
No. Our team competes year-round, but you are not required to shoot both indoor and outdoor. Members can specialize in indoor, outdoor, 3D, or target, or participate across all styles based on personal preference.
Do you offer coaching for staff shooters?
The staff shooter program does not offer formal coaching. However, team members actively support one another and share knowledge or advice whenever possible.
